Orangit (Pongo) on ihmisapinasuku. "Orangutan" tulee malajin kielestä ja tarkoittaa metsän ihmistä. Orankeja oli aiemmin lähes koko Kaakkois-Aasiassa, mutta nykyään niitä elää luonnossa vain Borneon ja Sumatran saarten sademetsissä. Orangit viettävät suurimman osan ajastaan puissa.  (lähde: Wikipedia)

The orangutans are the two exclusively Asian species of extant great apes. They are currently found only in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra.
