Sarvikuonot = Croissant muzzles = Rhinos

Kuvassa Leveähuulisarvikuono, ainoa elossa olevista sarvikuonolajeista, joka ei ole uhanalainen. Ne voivat edetä 50 km/h vauhdilla ja elää 50-vuotiaiksi, toisin kuin Western black rhinoceros -lajin edustajat, joita ei enää ole.

Some White rhinoceros, the only rhinoceros species that is not endagered at the moment. They can go as fast as 50 km/h and live up to 50 years old unlike the Western black rhinoceros which do not exist anymore.

Rapuina Krabilla / Crabs in Krabi

Pikku saksiniekat tekevät hienoa jälkeä Krabin haikean kauniilla hiekkarannoilla. Taiteilijat luikahtivat aina salamana koloihinsa, mutta sain sentään kuvan yhdestä kotilotyypistä. Pystyn samaistumaan rapuihin monellakin tapaa - poltin nimittäin selkäni kunnon turistin elkein. Kaksi vuotta aurinkoisissa paikoissa (kuten Australiassa) ja ensimmäinen kerta kun käry kävi. Rannoilla haahuilemisen lisäksi retkeilimme saarissa, veneilimme, uimme ja snorklasimme. Yhdessäoloa ulkoilmassa ja ilman iiteetä! Loma on kuningas(rapu) ;)

Small crabs do great art at the beaches of Krabi. The creative folk quickly disappear into their home holes but I got a photo of one funny shell dude. I can relate to these creatures in many ways, as I burnt my back on the sea, a real white tourist's tradition. Two years in sunny places (like Australia) and this was the first time. In addition to beaches we were on a boat trip to see some islands, swimming and snorkeling. Together in the open air and without information technology! Holiday is the king (crab).

Torni / Tower

Eräänä hullun kuumana päivänä kipusimme torniin Chinese Gardenissa.
On one mad hot day we climbed to the tower in Chinese Garden.

Porteilla vastaan tuli varaani.
On the gates we came across with a monitor lizard.

Epätodellinen eläin / Surreal creature

Mikä ihana, ihmeellinen otus! Saanko esitellä: Kääpiökauris, "Mouse-deer". Singapore Zoossa saimme kunnian kohdata näitä pupujen kokoisia suloisuuksia, jotka köpöttelivät sorkkajaloillaan, toisinaan täysin pysähtyen tuijottamaan meitä mantelisilmillään. Omissa videoissani Kääpiökauriit olivat pausella, mutta niitä voi nähdä toiminnassa esimerkiksi tällä videolla.

What an adorable and irrational creature! Allow me to introduce: Chevrotain, the Mouse-deer. In the Singapore Zoo we had the honor to meet these bunny-sized sweeties sauntering with their hooves, sometimes stopping completely to stare at us with their almond shaped eyes. In my own videos they were on pause but they can be seen in action in this video, for example.

Sata salamaa / Thunder!

Tiesin, että täällä sateet ovat lähes päivittäisiä, mutta en tiennyt niiden tulevan usein ukkosen kera. Nyt tiedän. Yllä oleva kuva salamasta ja sateesta on napattu bussista matkalla Malesiasta Singaporeen. Melbournen kesässä satoi tai ukosti kovin vähän. Alla olevat kuvat on otettu siellä tammikuun ainoana sadepäivänä.

I knew that it rains here almost daily but I did not know that there often comes a thunder as well. Now I know. The picture above is captured on the bus on the way from Malaysia to Singapore. During the Melbourne's summer it rained or stormed very little. The images below are taken from there, on the only rainy day of January.
